Successful actress Anna Camp, known for her roles in Pitch Perfect and Scream 7, is set to both star in and executive produce Serpent, an upcoming psychological thriller adapted from the bestselling novel The Serpent’s Bite by Warren Adler.

Brought to life through a partnership between the Adler Entertainment Trust and K7 Storytellers, The Serpent’s Bite follows the harrowing escalation of events that unfold when an ambitious actress agrees to join her estranged father and troubled brother on a week-long trek through the unforgiving Wyoming wilderness.

What begins as a desperate family bonding trip rapidly devolves into savage violence and brutal psychological warfare. Thomas Marchese is attached to direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jessub Flower, a project that happily reunites Marchese with Camp following their work together on the 2023 horror film From Black.

The project’s executive producing team includes Michael, Jonathan, and Madeline Adler on behalf of the author’s family, while Kelly Frazier is on board to produce for K7 Storytellers.

Dedicated to bringing Warren Adler’s extensive literary catalog to the screen, the Adler Entertainment Trust is coming off The Roses, a high-profile adaptation starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman.
