Following the success of her critically acclaimed directorial debut, Woman of the Hour, Anna Kendrick has been tapped to direct the highly anticipated Netflix adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
The film centers on an aging Hollywood starlet who reveals shocking truths about her life and seven marriages during a long-awaited interview with a young journalist.
While the initial draft of the script was penned by Liz Tigelaar, it is currently undergoing revisions by Francesca Sloane.
The production team features Liza Chasin of 3Dot Productions, alongside Brad Mendelsohn and David Hinojosa of Circle Management + Productions, with the author Taylor Jenkins Reid serving as an executive producer. Netflix, having acquired the rights to the high-profile project in 2022, ultimately chose to move forward with Anna Kendrick as director following the positive reception of her previous work with the studio.
