MIP CANCUN 2025

Cancun once again welcomes the global content industry with its vibrant atmosphere and the unmistakable energy of Latin America. Set against this inspiring backdrop, MIP Cancun stands out as one of the industry’s most dynamic meeting points, where business meets creativity and storytelling meets opportunity.

Latin America continues to serve as both an inspiration and a driving force for the global TV and film landscape. With its passionate audiences and strong storytelling traditions, the region offers endless opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and growth.

In this issue, we take a closer look at the leading companies connecting with Latin America through powerful stories, new titles, and forward-looking strategies presented at MIP Cancun.

For Inter Medya, Latin America remains a region of long-standing partnerships and ever-growing potential. As VP and Head of Sales & Acquisitions Beatriz Cea Okan notes, the company continues to expand its regional strategy with ambitious titles such as Halef and Eshref Ruya, exploring new paths in co-production and format adaptation.

We also turn the spotlight on Halef, meeting its producer Gül Oğuz and leads İlhan Şen, Aybüke Pusat, and Biran Damla Yılmaz, who share insights into the show’s emotional depth and international appeal.

Following its international debut at MIPCOM, OGM UNIVERSE’s Deep in Love takes center stage in Cancun. The heartfelt story of Eleni and Oruç, brought to life by Ava Yaman and Burak Yörük, continues to resonate with viewers, offering the emotional sincerity that Latin audiences deeply appreciate.

Kanal D International carries the strong momentum of Sins and Roses from MIPCOM to Cancun. As Elif Tatoğlu, Distribution Strategy & Sales Director, and Duda Perman, Sales Manager for LATAM, North America, and Portuguese-Speaking Territories, note, Latin America remains a vibrant and in-demand market despite economic challenges. Alongside its new titles, the company continues to strengthen its position with evergreen hits that remain audience favorites.

With global hits such as Farah, Forbidden Fruit, and Woman, Calinos Entertainment continues to be a trusted brand across Latin America. As Sales Manager (Europe, LATAM, Nordics), Goryana Vasileva emphasizes, the region has always held strategic importance for the company. Alongside audience favorites, Calinos is showcasing new hits like Chains of Fate, Flames of Love, and Chasing the Sun, while also highlighting the continued success of the Romanian drama Ana.

Beyond storytelling, technology is reshaping the industry in exciting ways. The introduction of Castle Walls, the first series produced with artificial intelligence by AI Yapım, a new division of Ay Yapım, signals the beginning of a new era in TV and film production. As Assoc. Prof. Zeynep Gürer and Assoc. Prof. Mert Gürer discusses how AI’s growing influence across research, planning, and visualization is transforming every stage of production.

Under Cancun’s bright sun, may these encounters spark fresh energy, new collaborations, and lasting partnerships. Wishing you an inspiring read, and a successful MIP Cancun!
