Netflix has announced a TRY 10 billion investment in Turkish films and series for 2026–2028, marking its tenth year in Türkiye.
Announced on November 5, the investment will support new series and films, with productions planned across different regions of the country.
The company has not yet disclosed how the investment will be distributed across the three years or how many projects it will cover. According to Netflix, the initiative also aims to create new employment opportunities in Türkiye’s creative industries and bring more local stories to its global audience in 190 countries.
Netflix’s First Decade in Türkiye
Netflix’s Vice President of Content for Spain, Portugal, Türkiye and the Middle East, Diego Ávalos, said the investment would help bring untold stories from across Anatolia to the screen and create new opportunities for creative professionals.
During its first decade in Türkiye, Netflix has filmed in more than 30 cities, from Edirne to Kars, and released over 90 local productions. These titles have entered the platform’s Top 10 lists in more than 90 countries.
Netflix Announces Project Presentation Day
Netflix will also hold its Next Story: Netflix Project Presentation Day on November 30. The event will give screenwriters, directors and producers who have not previously worked on a Netflix Türkiye production the opportunity to pitch their projects to the platform’s content teams.
The company also reported that it has delivered more than 40 free training programmes in areas including screenwriting, visual effects, directing and adaptation. Its Türkiye Talent Map initiative will expand to three additional cities in Anatolia.
