Netflix has officially shared the release date and first-look images for its new sci-fi thriller, The Last House, starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura.

Directed by Louis Leterrier, known for his work on Lupin and Now You See Me, The Last House is described as a claustrophobic nightmare following a family of four who wake up to find their home mysteriously sealed. As their resources rapidly dwindle, the family must navigate both an external looming threat and the internal psychological pressure of being trapped.

Greta Lee, celebrated for her roles in Past Lives and Russian Doll, portrays Ann, the family’s steadfast bedrock, while Narcos star Wagner Moura plays Jason, a fierce protector trying to maintain stability as their reality unravels.
Leterrier notes that the film challenges the traditional concept of a “safe haven” by transforming a suburban home into a hostile environment, working from a script by Matthew Robinson (Love and Monsters). Moura has teased that the storyline features unexpected layers and twists that will catch audiences completely off guard, promising a high-stakes survival story with a unique science-fiction edge.

The supporting cast includes Riley Chung and Gabriel Barbosa, further rounding out the ensemble for this high-concept project. Fans of the genre won’t have to wait long, as The Last House is set to premiere globally on Netflix on August 7.
