The Stranger Things universe continues to expand as Netflix’s new animated series, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, has officially been renewed for a second season following its massive debut success.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 made a powerful entrance by landing at No. 7 on Netflix’s Top 10 list, securing its spot as one of the top 15 animated series debuts of all time, a feat achieved just as the original live-action franchise reached a cumulative 1.5 billion views.
The Hawkins Investigators Club, featuring Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and newcomer Nikki, is set to return with a voice cast led by Brooklyn Davey Norstedt (Eleven), Luca Diaz (Mike), and Odessa A’zion (Nikki).
Showrunner Eric Robles has teased that the upcoming season will focus on a new paranormal threat emerging from Hawkins’ abandoned silver mines, while finally revealing the secret behind the mysterious blue flower seen blooming in the Upside Down at the end of Season 1. The producers emphasized that the seasons are not isolated but deeply interconnected, with the story set to continue through the winter of 1985.
Beyond the screen, the success of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is evolving into a full-scale cultural phenomenon through collaborations like Jazwares action figures and McDonald’s Happy Meals, alongside a global soundtrack release. With the addition of stage plays in London and Broadway and immersive “Netflix House” experiences, the world of Hawkins is growing larger and more interactive than ever before.
