Following its award-winning world premiere at the 2026 Berlinale, Adrian Goiginger’s emotionally charged drama Four Minus Three is making significant waves in the international market.

Beta Cinema has secured a strong first wave of global sales, with distribution deals already signed for France, Benelux, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan. The film’s critical success is matched by its accolades, having earned the prestigious Europa Cinemas Label Award in Berlin, while lead actress Valerie Pachner was honored with the Best Actress Award at the Diagonale in Graz for her “shattering” and deeply empathetic performance.

Based on the bestselling true story by Barbara Pachl-Eberhart, Four Minus Three explores the profound journey of finding hope after tragic loss. The production has become a standout at the Austrian Film Awards with eight nominations, including Best Film and Best Director, further cementing Goiginger’s reputation for sensitive and humanistic storytelling.

Beyond the festival circuit, Four Minus Three has proven to be a commercial powerhouse, achieving the best opening weekend for an Austrian film in 2026 and surpassing 70,000 admissions in its first five weeks. This combination of critical acclaim and strong word-of-mouth among arthouse audiences positions the film as one of the most significant European releases of the year.
