Sydney Sweeney is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Hollow, a debut novel written by Lindsey Anderson Beer that is scheduled for publication in the fall of 2027.
Lindsey Anderson Beer, who previously made her feature directorial debut with the 2023 film Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, is attached to both write the screenplay and helm the project.
Serving as a modern reimagining of Washington Irving’s 1820 short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the film aims to blend gothic and erotic thriller elements into its narrative. In this adaptation, Sydney Sweeney will portray Katrina Van Tassel, who acts as the central figure caught in a dangerous and supernatural love triangle.
The production is being managed by a team including LuckyChap, Beer’s company Brew Lab, and Honey Trap, the newly formed production house established by Sweeney; the project is expected to be presented to interested studios in the coming week.
