JustWatch is expanding beyond streaming discovery with the launch of JustWatch TV, a new service combining free, ad-supported viewing with movie rentals and an ad-free subscription offering. The platform is now available through JustWatch’s website and mobile and TV apps, initially launching across 11 markets and drawing on a network of 30 content partners.
The launch covers the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. Among the newly announced partners are Cineverse in the US, Leonine Studios in Germany, SND in France and Altitude in the UK. They join previously announced partners including Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street and Vortex Media.
Three Ways to Watch
JustWatch TV introduces three viewing options designed to give users access to different parts of its catalogue. JustWatch TV Free offers a curated selection of titles supported by advertising, while JustWatch TV Store provides a growing range of recent and popular films for rental. JustWatch TV Plus, meanwhile, offers ad-free access to numerous catalogue titles alongside exclusive features within the streaming guide and app.
The service combines editorial recommendations and human curation with data-driven discovery. Its catalogue is shaped by insights drawn from billions of audience data points collected through JustWatch’s streaming guide, which helps the company identify what viewers want to watch and surface titles that complement existing streaming services.
JustWatch Builds on Its Audience Insights
For JustWatch Group founder and CEO David Croyé, the launch represents a major step in the company’s development. He said the goal from the outset was to make it easier for audiences to find the films and series they want to watch in one place. JustWatch TV extends that proposition by allowing users to discover and stream selected content without leaving the platform.
The service also creates new opportunities for JustWatch Media, the group’s campaign planning and buying business, which supports film marketing across digital platforms including YouTube, Meta and TikTok. By adding a viewing destination to its existing discovery service, the group expects to deepen its audience data and insights for studios, distributors, streaming platforms and media agencies.
Global Expansion in the Pipeline
JustWatch TV’s initial launch is the starting point for a wider rollout. The company says additional content partners and titles are already in development, alongside ongoing product improvements intended to support the service’s expansion into further markets.
With its combination of streaming discovery, curated free viewing, rentals and subscription access, JustWatch is moving from directing audiences to entertainment elsewhere to offering more of that experience directly within its own ecosystem.
