SPI International has announced a strategic partnership with Markíza Group, part of CME, one of Central and Eastern Europe’s leading broadcasters and content creators.

Starting March 16, Markíza Group will serve as the exclusive representative for FilmBox advertising sales in Slovakia.
FilmBox, one of SPI International’s flagship channels, offers a wide range of entertainment including Hollywood blockbusters, timeless classics, and popular TV series. With over 20 years in the Slovak and Czech markets, the channel continues to attract a broad and loyal audience.

“This new partnership reflects our strategy of expanding SPI International’s advertising presence throughout the region, following the recent introduction of advertising on DIZI in Bulgaria. With Markíza Group on board, we are confident that FilmBox will achieve even stronger visibility and commercial success in Slovakia” – said Erwan Luherne, Managing Director at SPI International.

Slovakia is among five CEE markets where SPI International operates its TV advertising business, together with Poland, Czechia, Hungary, and additionally Bulgaria. While FilmBox previously carried Czech‑language advertising in Slovakia, the company is now introducing advertising breaks localized in Slovak to better address local market needs.

“We are pleased to welcome FilmBox into our advertising portfolio. Expanding our partner network with strong international brands such as SPI International reinforces our position as a leading sales house in Slovakia and offers advertisers additional high-quality entertainment inventory tailored to the local market” – said Juraj Máťuš, Sales Director at Markíza Group.

In March, FilmBox in Czechia and Slovakia will offer acclaimed crime series Blood of Vine and plenty of special movie events including celebration of a renowned actor Jiří Bartoška. The month will also feature Friday premieres with Around the World in 80 Days and The Secret of Karma among the highlighted titles.

The FilmBox channel is available for Slovak audiences through major local operators, including Skylink, Slovak Telekom, Digi and Orange, ensuring broad reach for advertisers.
