Series Mania will take place in Lille from March 15th to 22nd. The festival serves as an international platform for the television industry, bringing together professionals from around the world each year. This year’s exhibitors will include Turkish TV series distribution companies and the fair is seen as a platform for Turkish TV series to explore market opportunities in Europe.

The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony on Friday, March 15th at the Nouveau Siècle Theater, presented by Daphne Burki and broadcasted live on Culturebox.

Among the events at the festival, there will be the European premiere of the American series The 3 Body Problem, which will be streamed on Netflix. Actors Jess Hong and John Bradley will also be present at the event.

The closing ceremony will be held on March 22nd at the Nouveau Siècle Theater, where the winner of the Grand Prize for Best Series in the international competition will be announced.

GENERAL PUBLIC EVENTS AT SERIES MANIA

Series Mania not only caters to TV professionals but also hosts numerous events for the general public. Traditionally, screenings are free and open to a wide audience.

This year, the TV industry and the festival itself are facing challenges due to international crises. However, efforts are being made to maintain balance through the participation of new nations stepping in for traditionally strong ones.

THE EFFECTS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ARE ALSO ON THE AGENDA

Artificial Intelligence continues to have a growing impact on the creation and regulation of TV series. This topic will be discussed at the 2024 Lille Dialogues summit, as it was during the Hollywood writers’ strike.

The importance of the Series Mania Institute, which focuses on training future television professionals, is greater than ever. The institute aims to equip students from around the world and the Hauts-de-France region with the necessary skills to tackle tomorrow’s challenges, regardless of their academic backgrounds.

Anne Bouverot, President of Series Mania and President of Technicolor Creative Studios, along with Laurence Herszberg, General Director of Series Mania, expressed their hopes for the future of the festival and the television industry.
