At NEM Dubrovnik 2026, we spoke with Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights, and Melis Hamamcıoğlu, Director of Digital Media Acquisition and Content Sales. They shared their impressions of this year’s market and discussed the continued interest in Turkish content, animation, and film projects.

How has NEM Dubrovnik been for Eccho Rights this year?

This year feels different from the previous edition. The number of participants has increased significantly and there is visibly more activity across the market. Last year was already a strong event, but this year has been even better.

The industry as a whole has been going through a challenging period, so it is encouraging to see such strong attendance and engagement. Overall, the market has been very successful for us and we are closing the event with a great sense of satisfaction.

Turkish drama continues to attract strong interest across the region. Croatia has traditionally been a relatively limited market for Turkish content, but there are currently some promising developments underway. We are not in a position to share details just yet, but we expect to have more news within the next few weeks.

The response to Eccho Rights’ catalogue has been very positive, and we continue to see strong interest in Turkish productions across multiple territories.

Which projects and genres of Eccho Rights attracted the most attention during the market?

Alongside drama, we are seeing increasing interest in animation and family-oriented content. King Shakir, with both its films and animated content, continues to attract significant attention from buyers.

We are also actively presenting our film catalogue and exploring new opportunities in the animation space. These categories are becoming increasingly important as buyers look for content that can appeal to wider audiences across different platforms.

We have several projects that are currently generating interest, and we are pleased with the conversations and opportunities that emerged during the market. Overall, it has been a productive event for both our drama and digital content businesses.

With new projects, films, and animation titles in our catalogue, we believe there are exciting opportunities ahead and we look forward to sharing more developments in the near future.
