Leading Turkish broadcaster Kanal 7 has confirmed that its flagship daily drama, Behind the Veil (Gelin), will return for Season 4 this fall.
Known for breaking viewership records and surpassing major primetime series in the ratings, the Film Yapim Merkezi-produced show maintains its core cast and production crew for the new episodes.
As one of the most cost-effective and high-performing dramas on Turkish television, Behind the Veil continues to be a central pillar of Kanal 7’s programming slate.
Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights, said: “Behind the Veil has been one of those rare projects that has exceeded expectations at every turn. To see it now heading into a fourth season, with its cast and creative team intact, is a testament to the strength of the storytelling and the loyalty of its audience. We are delighted to continue this journey and look forward to bringing even more of the world to this extraordinary series.”
The renewal comes on the back of strong international momentum for the title, with Eccho Rights having recently concluded sales across Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Moldova and Georgia. The series has also already sold in Israel, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, North Iraq and Indonesia.
Now heading into its fourth season, Behind the Veil has taken viewers on an extraordinary journey. Season one saw orphaned Hançer enter a marriage of convenience with wealthy heir Cihan – only for genuine love to take root against all odds. In season two, that love was pushed to breaking point by the scheming of Cihan’s ex-wife Beyza and his formidable mother Mukadder. Season three brought fresh devastation with the return of Hançer’s long-absent mother and the arrival of a vengeful sister determined to destroy Cihan’s family at any cost.
