Following their high-profile strategic alliance formed last December, Inter Medya and Rise Studios have officially begun filming their first joint venture, Caged Love (Tutsak Sevda).

This inaugural co-investment project marks a significant milestone in their partnership, blending Inter Medya’s renowned expertise in Turkish drama with Rise Studios’ regional and global production reach.

Directed by Canan Çelik, Caged Love is a gripping romantic drama that dives deep into the themes of identity and sacrifice. The narrative follows Deniz (played by Eslem Akar), a young woman who finds herself falsely accused of a crime she didn’t commit. In a desperate bid to protect her daughter, she assumes the identity of her dying friend, Sevda, and enters the formidable mansion of the powerful Demiricihan family.

The emotional stakes escalate as Deniz, now living under her borrowed identity, is forced into a marriage with Baran (Mert Altınışık), a man she was never supposed to love, but whose life becomes inextricably linked with her own secrets. Although they are forced into marriage by the family’s matriarch, they must overcome both internal and external conflicts before they can confess and surrender to their love, shadowed by the belief that he was once the secret lover of Baran’s late brother.

The Inter Medya and Rise Studios’ series features a formidable ensemble cast. Leading the project are Eslem Akar and Mert Altınışık, supported by a talented lineup including Caner Kurtaran, Faruk Pakiş, Gül Arcan, Aslı Saçar, Hasan Ballıktaş, Berna Üçkaleler, and Pelin Orhuner. The script, written by Zeynep Küçükerciyes and Ali Göğebakan, has been developed with a “multi-platform global release” in mind, adhering to the high production standards that have made Turkish content a worldwide staple.

Currently filming on location in Türkiye, Caged Love is positioned as a key title for international markets, further solidifying the bridge between Turkish storytelling and global streaming platforms.

Caged Love represents the next chapter of our global co-production strategy,” noted Can Okan, Founder and CEO of Inter Medya. “By combining our international production expertise with the strength of Rise Studios, we are working together to honor the global appeal of Turkish drama through high-quality storytelling. Seeing this story finally come to life on set is a testament to the hard work and shared ambition of both companies.”

“This partnership reflects our ambition to back stories that travel,” added Amanda Turnbull, CEO and Founder of Rise Studios. “With Caged Love, we’re bringing together a powerful emotional story and a globally proven genre to create something both locally authentic and widely relatable. Working with Inter Medya supports our intention to step into an adjacent market that shares cultural sensibilities while offering strong regional and international appeal.”
