Sony thrilled the audience at CinemaCon 2026 by unveiling the first trailer for Insidious: Out of the Further, the sixth installment in its legendary horror franchise.
Described by Sony Pictures President Adam Bergerman as the most terrifying entry in the series to date, this latest chapter moves beyond 2023’s The Red Door to center on an entirely new family.
Starring Amelia Eve as Gemma, Insidious: Out of the Further follows a young mother who realizes she can travel into “The Further” while living in her childhood home. However, the terror escalates when she discovers she can bring its malevolent inhabitants back with her, threatening to turn the physical world into a playground for demons.
Written and directed by Jacob Chase, the film sees the welcome return of franchise veteran Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier, alongside Brandon Perea. Building on a global box office legacy of over $740 million, this highly anticipated supernatural thriller is scheduled to haunt theaters starting August 21, 2026.
