DC Studios has released the official trailer for its standalone Clayface film, starring Tom Rhys Harries as the iconic Batman villain. Directed by James Watkins, the film is set to hit theaters on October 23, distributed by Warner Bros.
Set within the same universe as Matt Reeves’ The Batman (2022) and the upcoming The Batman Part II (2028), Clayface continues to expand the franchise following the success of HBO Max’s The Penguin. The story follows struggling actor Matt Hagen, whose face is severely disfigured before he is exposed to mysterious chemicals that grant him the ability to shapeshift.
According to DC Studios, the film explores one man’s horrifying transformation from a rising Hollywood star into a revenge-driven monster, tackling themes of identity, humanity, destructive love, and the dark consequences of scientific ambition.

The cast also includes Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, and Eddie Marsan. The screenplay was written by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, while the film is produced by Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn, and Peter Safran.
The trailer arrives ahead of this week’s San Diego Comic-Con, where DC Studios is expected to unveil additional footage from the highly anticipated film.
