Tubi has announced its new YA original film Game On as part of its growing investment in youth-focused romantic comedies, aiming to blend coming-of-age storytelling with gaming culture.

The film stars Sky Katz and Case Walker, alongside Nolan North, and is written and directed by Jem Garrard, with production handled by Blue Ice Pictures. Production is scheduled to begin in March 2026.

At the center of the story is Casey, a talented high school gamer determined to win her school’s first esports tournament. When she discovers that her online rival is also the boy she is beginning to fall for in real life, the narrative evolves into a layered story about identity, competition, and emotional vulnerability.

Beyond its romantic premise, Game On also explores issues such as online toxicity and the challenges faced by female gamers, positioning itself as a more contemporary and relatable YA story. With this project, Tubi aims to connect both gaming communities and young audiences through a story that merges romance, rivalry, and self-discovery.

Game On is a standout addition to our expanding slate of Tubi YA originals, bringing viewers into the world of competitive gaming with an authentic coming-of-age story about identity, vulnerability, and connection,” said Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer at Tubi. “With rising talent like Sky Katz and Case Walker alongside gaming icon Nolan North, we’re excited to bring Jem Garrard’s smart, insightful script to life and merge both YA and gaming fandoms.”
