The filming of the movie Zaferin Rengi continued last Sunday in Beyazıt, where the scene of Halide Edib Adıvar’s speech on the podium in occupied Istanbul in 1919 was shot.

Members of the media and the audience also attended the shooting of the scene in which Birce Akalay played Adıvar. While Halide Edip Adıvar’s Sultanahmet Rally speech, which made a great impact when it was made, came to life again on the stage, there were emotional moments during the shooting.

New photos have been shared from the ongoing set of the movie Zaferin Rengi, which was directed by Abdullah Oğuz and produced by Abdullah Oğuz and Evren Oğuz.

Halide Edip Adıvar, the “Halide Corporal” of the War of Independence and the “first war novelist” of Turkish Literature, was memorable for her speeches at the Sultanahmet Square rally in 1919, in order to mobilize the people of Istanbul against the occupation of the country, and stirred the national feelings of the participants.

The speech scene of Birce Akalay, who portrayed Halide Edib Adıvar, a historical figure who addressed such a crowd at a time when the Republican revolutions had not yet been made, and who should be evaluated in terms of the place and importance of Turkish women in society, also left a significant mark on the set.

A Victory Won with Unity, Sports and Love

The main characters of the movie are Kubilay Aka as Galip Bey, the founding member and legendary captain of Fenerbahçe, and Gülper Özdemir as Peyker. Nejat İşler (Sabri Toprak), Timuçin Esen (Topkapılı Cambaz), Yiğit Özşener (Mustafa Kemal Pasha), Gonca Vuslateri (Vera) and Birce Akalay (Halide Edib Adıvar) are also among the cast of the movie.

Zaferin Rengi brings the story of a unique resistance organized against enemy forces in occupied Istanbul in 1919 and launched in Anatolia to the big screen by building around the legend of the General Harington Cup, which is considered one of the greatest sports achievements in the history of the Republic.

The movie will be released in 2024.
