Mini-Series ‘The Great Chimera’ Draws One Million Viewers in First Week

The television adaptation of the classic Greek novel The Great Chimera, first published in 1936, is breaking viewing records in Greece.

The series is an international mini-series co-production led by Greek public broadcaster ERT.

It premiered on ERT’s streaming platform ERTFLIX on January 1 with the release of its first two episodes. Within its first week, the series reached one million views.

The Great Chimera also became a talking point on social media, sparking debate due to its bold and intense scenes.

New episodes air on ERT in the prime-time Sunday slot. Episodes are made available on ERTFLIX one day ahead of their linear broadcast.

The series highlights the continued appeal of classic literary adaptations among local audiences.
