The crime-drama series Şahsiyet (Persona), starring Haluk Bilginer, returns to GAIN screens with its second season after a five-year break. The first two episodes of Persona’s 10-episode second season will air on November 13.

Directed by Onur Saylak and written by Hakan Günday, Ay Yapım’s Persona brought Haluk Bilginer the ‘Best Actor’ Performance award at the 47th International Emmy Awards.

NEW NAMES JOINING THE CAST

Haluk Bilginer, Şebnem Bozoklu, Recep Usta and Necip Memili, who were part of the cast in the first season, are joined by new names this season. In addition to Erdal Özyağcılar, the expanded cast includes İlker Aksum, Nergis Öztürk, Şehsuvar Aktaş, Nihal Koldaş, Eda Şölenci, Ayşen İnci, Burhan Öçal, Ömer Duran, Erkan Taşdöğen, Feridun Koç and Salih Usta. In addition, senior names such as Füsun Erbulak, Nurseli İdiz and İzzet Günay will meet the audience in the new season of Persona after a long break. İNTİKAMIN GÖLGESİNDE BİR HESAPLAŞMA

Persona is about Agâh, a 65-year-old retired judicial officer, who crosses paths with Nevra, the only female police officer in the Istanbul Homicide Bureau. When Agâh is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, he sees an opportunity to commit a murder he has been planning for years, knowing that he won’t remember and won’t regret it. Meanwhile, Nevra, who is on the verge of resignation due to the anti-women behavior of her colleagues, will be forever changed by Agâh’s crime.

Agâh Beyoğlu’s story in the shadow of revenge explores the complexity of human nature, memory and the search for justice. The 12-episode season 1, which aired on Puhutv, was well-received.

In the story, which becomes more personal in the new season, the protagonist finds himself in the middle of an individual conflict.

Hakan Günday and Onur Saylak
