Paramount+ has officially greenlit a new heist thriller titled The Day (working title), which is an adaptation of the Belgian series De Dag.
The show features a stellar cast led by Minnie Driver as hostage negotiator Sylvia “Vox” Voxley, alongside Luca Pasqualino (Shadow and Bone, Skins) and Louisa Harland (Derry Girls).
This eight-part series utilizes a unique narrative style set across a single day, where each episode flips the perspective to recount the events through the eyes of the police and then the robbers. The plot kicks off when police accidentally stumble upon a bank robbery in progress, escalating into a tense hostage siege.
Co-produced by Dynamic Television and Clapperboard Studios, the series is currently in production and is set to premiere on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland.
