Lionsgate has released an exciting new featurette for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, offering fans a first look at Maya Hawke and Kieran Culkin in their iconic franchise roles.

Scheduled for a theatrical release on November 20, 2026, the film stars Hawke as the District 3 victor Wiress and Culkin as the flamboyant host Caesar Flickerman. Joseph Zada takes center stage as a young Haymitch Abernathy, portraying the fan-favorite character during his time as a tribute for the 50th Hunger Games, a role originally made famous by Woody Harrelson.

The ensemble cast further expands the Panem universe with heavy hitters including Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, and Ralph Fiennes taking on the mantle of President Snow. In a nostalgic twist, original stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to reprise their roles as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark within a framing device for the story.

Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel, Sunrise on the Reaping explores the Second Quarter Quell, serving as both a sequel to The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and a crucial prequel to the original trilogy.
