Apple Original Films has released the first trailer for Mayday, the upcoming action-comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh.
Set during the Cold War, the story follows U.S. Navy pilot Lieutenant Troy “Assassin” Kelly (Ryan Reynolds), who becomes stranded behind enemy lines in Soviet territory after a top-secret mission goes disastrously wrong. He is discovered by former KGB agent Nikolai Ustinov (Kenneth Branagh), and the two form an unlikely alliance that could become Troy’s only chance of survival.
Blending action, espionage, humor, and an unexpected friendship, Mayday also stars Marcin Dorociński, Maria Bakalova, and David Morse. The film is written and directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, and produced by Skydance Media alongside Ryan Reynolds’ production company, Maximum Effort.
The film is set to premiere on Apple TV on September 4, 2026.
