The beloved franchise Heartstopper, based on Alice Oseman’s popular graphic novel series which has captured viewers’ hearts since 2022, is set to conclude with a grand finale film titled Heartstopper Forever, premiering on Netflix this July 17.
The bittersweet movie centers on the poignant challenges of growing up as Nick prepares to leave for university, forcing him and Charlie to confront the reality of a long-distance relationship. While Oseman notes that the series originally began like an idealistic fairy tale, this final chapter takes a slightly grittier and more mature look at romance and the true meaning of sustaining a long-term commitment.
Set to Olivia Rodrigo’s track “Stupid Song,” the newly released Heartstopper Forever trailer beautifully blends emotional high stakes with the joyful milestones of entering adulthood, showing the Paris squad celebrating their identities at a Pride parade, sharing pints at a pub, and dancing at parties, all woven together with the franchise’s iconic rustling cartoon leaves.

To celebrate this final chapter, Netflix has launched a creative fan engagement initiative by opening up access to the complete, unedited trailer footage, allowing fans to download the file and craft their very own social media edits.
The farewell film features the return of its cherished ensemble cast, including William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Kizzy Edgell, Corinna Brown, Rhea Norwood, and Tobie Donovan, with lead stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke notably stepping up to earn their very first executive producer credits as they say a proper goodbye to their iconic characters.
