Filming for Son of a Rich, starring Kerem Bürsin and Melis Sezen, has started, and the first pictures from the set have been released.

Kunay Film posted photos from the first day on their Instagram account and wrote:

“Starring Kerem Bürsin and his co-star Melis Sezen, alongside actors Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan, Güven Kıraç, Cemal Hünal, and Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, as well as Melisa Döngel, Ecem Özkaya, Evliya Aykan, Efekan Can, and Eda Şölenci, we have started filming our first feature film, ‘Son of a Rich,’ today.

The filming began with an unusual event for Turkish cinema. On the first day of shooting, the tradition of breaking a plate was observed, inspired by Sergey Eisenstein’s film “Battleship Potemkin.” Traditionally, before shooting begins, a plate with the names of the crew members written on it is taken. On the first day, after the first successful take, the director wishes the crew good luck and breaks the plate on the camera tripod. Later, each crew member takes a piece of the plate, and if all the pieces are together after filming is completed, the film is believed to be successful!

Today, we brought this tradition to Turkish cinema and hope it becomes established and turns into a tradition among our colleagues for years to come.”
