HBO has finally announced the release date for the long-awaited third and final season of Euphoria. Created by Sam Levinson, the new season has been in development for nearly four years.

Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer will be back for the finale, but the cast won’t look exactly the same. Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat, has left the show after Season 2, while Angus Cloud, Fezco, one of the show’s most beloved characters, tragically passed away in 2023. Storm Reid is also not expected to return as Gia.

Season 3 will welcome several new names, including Sharon Stone and Eli Roth, along with Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, and Danielle Deadwyler. Meanwhile, familiar faces such as Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Colman Domingo, Alanna Ubach, and Dominic Fike will reprise their roles.

At an HBO Max presentation in London, Levinson previewed the explosive new season and revealed where the characters’ lives pick up four years later, now after a five-year time jump in the story.

“Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college they’d be out of college at that time,” he explained of where the show picks up. “We basically pick up Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off.”

“And then Cassie is living in the suburbs with Nate, they’re engaged and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time.”

He promised: “I feel strongly this is our best season yet… I will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married. I’m confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night.”

Levinson also shared that “Jules is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs. Maddy is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she’s obviously got her own side hustles going. And Lexi is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon.”

The final season of Euphoria will consist of eight episodes and is set to premiere in April 2026.
