Netflix has officially found its new Robert Langdon. Morgan Spector has been cast as the renowned Harvard symbologist in the upcoming series adaptation of Dan Brown’s The Secret of Secrets, taking over the role previously portrayed by Tom Hanks in the feature films.

Created by bestselling author Dan Brown and Lost co-creator Carlton Cuse, the series promises a suspenseful story that blends cutting-edge science with ancient mysteries. Cuse will also serve as writer and showrunner, while both he and Brown executive produce the project.

The story follows Robert Langdon as he embarks on a race against time to find his missing scientist girlfriend and recover a manuscript containing discoveries that could fundamentally reshape humanity’s understanding of the human mind.

Rebecca Hall is expected to star as the female lead, while Spector’s casting does not affect his role in HBO’s The Gilded Age. Should the period drama receive a fifth season, the actor is expected to balance both productions through scheduling.

Netflix ordered the project straight to series in May 2025. Dan Brown’s novel The Secret of Secrets, on which the adaptation is based, was published on September 9, 2025.
