The upcoming eighth edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment will put Brazil in the spotlight when it is held in Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, from 18 to 21 June 2024. In previous weeks, meetings were held with companies and institutions to promote the country’s presence as the focus country for Conecta 2024. These meetings culminated in a major presentation of the event to Brazilian authorities, institutions and the audiovisual industry at the headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes in Sao Paulo.

The presentation of the event in Sao Paulo was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Trade Office (ICEX) in Brazil. Throughout the week, a series of productive meetings were held with local institutions such as ANCINE (Ministry of Culture), SIAESP-CINEMA DO BRASIL (Ministry of Industry), the Brazilian Association of Independent Producers (BRAVI), Spcine, the Film and Audiovisual Agency of the City of São Paulo, as well as talent promotion foundations such as PROJETO PARADISO and a number of key companies in the industry.

WHAT BRASIL’S ROLE AS THE FOCUS COUNTRY OF CONECTA PROVIDES?

Notable participants included Globo, Rede TV, A&E Networks, HBO Max (now Max), Prime Video, Disney, 02 Filmes, Banijay Endemol, Formata, Gullane, Boutique Films, Floresta, Glaz Entertainment, Casablanca Content, Teleimage, Mixer Filmes, Prodigo Films, Cesnik and Quanta. This significant representation underlines Brazil’s vibrant audiovisual scene and its openness to cooperation and co-productions.

Brazil’s role as the focus country of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment will provide participants with an in-depth experience of the country’s rich content production landscape. With a population of over 217 million and a legacy of high quality content creation, Brazil offers lucrative opportunities for collaboration and investment.

NEW STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH CONTENT AMERICAS

In parallel, Conecta Fiction & Entertainment announced a new strategic alliance with Content Americas to foster talent exchange and promote projects internationally. This collaboration will provide exceptional exposure for one of the Conecta 2024 finalists at the 2025 event in Miami, in line with Conecta’s mission to support the development of the international audiovisual industry.

As Conecta Fiction & Entertainment prepares for its eighth edition, the event continues to serve as a vital platform for the creation, development, production, financing, broadcasting and marketing of television content. With a focus on connecting industry and talent, fiction and entertainment, and Europe and the Americas, Conecta remains a key player in the global audiovisual landscape.
