Following its presentation at CinemaCon, Warner Bros. has officially released the first teaser trailer for Practical Magic 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1998 cult classic romantic fantasy.
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who must once again confront the multi-generational family curse that spells doom for any man they fall in love with. In a move that delights fans of the original, Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are also set to reprise their iconic roles as the aunts.
Practical Magic 2 introduces a new generation of witches to the Owens lineage, with Joey King and Maisie Williams joining the cast as Sally’s daughters, alongside Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.

The creative torch has been passed to director Susanne Bier, known for Bird Box and The Perfect Couple, while the screenplay is a collaboration between original co-writer Akiva Goldsman and Succession’s Georgia Pritchett. The teaser strikes a balance between nostalgia and modern wit; set to the familiar tune of Harry Nilsson’s “Coconut Song,” it features a standout moment where Gillian deadpans that their deadly family curse is “not great for the Tinder bio.”
Blending dark secrets with the enduring power of sisterhood, Practical Magic 2 is scheduled to cast its spell in theaters worldwide on September 11.
