Netflix is putting even more focus on young adult stories, expanding its YA lineup with new original series, returning favorites and growing franchises.

Among the latest additions are Sid & Zoey and Sunshine Girls, two new series joining what Netflix describes as its biggest young adult slate so far. The platform is also moving forward with several previously announced projects, including Crew Girl, A Different World, The Body, Poser and The Sticks, alongside upcoming films Don’t Say Good Luck and Best of the Best.

Sid & Zoey will mix supernatural mystery with romance. Created by writers and showrunners Jon Kasdan and John Shiban, the project also has Blumhouse, Atomic Monster and Bad Robot on board as executive producers.

Sunshine Girls, meanwhile, takes a more traditional coming-of-age approach. Starring Alma Marian, Isabella Fowler and Erin Rose Park, the series follows Olivia as she leaves New York behind and moves to the California suburb of Valley Hills. The show is currently expected to arrive on Netflix in December.

There are updates for other YA projects as well. Finding Her Edge is preparing to begin production on its second season with Madelyn Cline, Cale Ambrozic and Olly Atkins set to return. Randall Park has also joined Minimum Wage, a series following a group of teenagers trying to balance part-time jobs, friendships and relationships as graduation gets closer. Its first 14 episodes are expected to premiere later this year.

The expansion comes as YA titles continue to perform strongly for Netflix. According to the streamer, young adult films and series have generated more than 10.5 billion views globally since 2023. Titles including Stranger Things, Wednesday and Ginny & Georgia have been among the strongest performers, while YA productions have appeared in Netflix’s Global Top 10 in more than 90% of 2026 so far.

Netflix is also looking beyond individual hits and focusing on building franchises that audiences can return to. A new dedicated YA collection brings together titles such as To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Kissing Booth, Never Have I Ever, My Life with the Walter Boys and XO, Kitty, alongside behind-the-scenes material, cast commentary and exclusive clips.

With established series such as Elite, Outer Banks and Ginny & Georgia continuing alongside a growing list of new originals, Netflix appears to be treating young adult programming as more than a collection of individual successes. Instead, the streamer is building a larger YA catalogue designed to turn popular stories, characters and talent into long-running franchises.
