All3Media International has announced multiple presales for Maya, the upcoming six-part thriller from Two Brothers Pictures, written and created by Daisy Haggard (Boat Story, Back to Life). Starring Haggard alongside Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us, Time), the series will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK, with STARZ attached as its North American co-producer.

The All3Media International series has been licensed across EMEA to broadcasters and platforms including ARD in Germany, Movistar Plus in Spain and Spanish-speaking Andorra, Canal+ in France and French-speaking territories, TV 2 in Norway, TV4 in Sweden, NPO in the Netherlands, Antena TV GROUP in Romania, HOT and yes TV in Israel, and Sýn hf in Iceland. Further deals have been secured with Foxtel Group in Australia for Foxtel and BINGE, and Sky in New Zealand.

“We’re delighted to announce these further presales for Daisy Haggard and Two Brothers Pictures’ Maya,” said Maartje Horchner, EVP Content at All3Media International. “This atmospheric and darkly witty drama centres on the powerful bond between a mother and daughter as they navigate new lives in witness protection, with themes of identity, family and predatory male behaviour that are sure to resonate globally.”

Filmed entirely in Scotland, Maya follows Anna (Haggard), a single mother, and her teenage daughter Maya (Ramsey), who enter witness protection after facing a life-threatening danger. Forced to leave London and assume new identities, they relocate to a rural Scottish town, but their past soon catches up with them as two hitmen begin tracking them down.

Blending psychological thriller elements with dark comedy, the series explores family, love and predatory male behaviour while placing the bond between mother and daughter at its centre.

Maya is directed by Haggard in her directorial debut alongside Jamie Donoughue (Doctor Who, The Last Kingdom). The cast also includes Tobias Menzies, Ben Chaplin, Harriet Walter, Tom Courtenay, Kiran Sonia Sawar and Harry Hadden-Paton.
