A new teaser for HBO’s upcoming horror series Welcome to Derry was revealed during San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, before being released online on Sunday. The teaser offers a chilling look at the early days of evil creeping into Derry, with children mysteriously disappearing.
Set in Stephen King’s IT universe, Welcome to Derry builds on the world created by director Andy Muschietti in the IT films, which grossed over $1.17 billion globally. Developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, the series will premiere on HBO and stream on HBO Max in October. Andy Muschietti is also directing multiple episodes.
The cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård.
The show is executive produced by Andy and Barbara Muschietti (Double Dream), Jason Fuchs (FiveTen Productions), Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Lee and Dan Lin, and Bill Skarsgård. Fuchs and Kane also serve as co-showrunners, with Fuchs writing the script for the first episode.
