A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight was officially announced a long time ago. Now it is reported that the shooting of the series will begin. The series, based on George R.R. Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novels, will be broadcast on HBO.

Set a century before Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will tell the story of Sir Long Duncan and his friend Egg. Filming for this spin-off series is expected to begin in the spring of 2024 after the SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) strike ends.

HBO content chief Casey Bloys emphasised the importance of Game of Thrones for the TV networks and confirmed that different ideas and scenarios about this universe are being worked on.

On the other hand, it has been confirmed that the 2nd season of the House of the Dragon series will air in the summer of 2024. Since House of the Dragon was filmed outside the US and the cast was not affiliated with SAG-AFTRA, the series was not affected by the strike.

Set 200 years before Game of Thrones, the second season script of the series was completed before the WGA (Writers Guild of America) strike. Therefore, there was no change in the programme of the series.

George R.R. Martin and Ira Martin will both write and executive produce A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will both write the script and serve as executive producers. House of the Dragon showrunners Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis will also serve as executive producers on the series.
