The psychological game of nerves, Trick House, is heading back to the Danish mansion!

Trick House, the global entertainment phenomenon originally created by TV Asahi, has officially been greenlit for its highly anticipated second season in Denmark. Since its 2021 debut, the format has captivated international audiences by seamlessly blending high-stakes tension with laugh-out-loud humor.

The core of Trick House remains as brilliantly simple as it is cruel: contestants are invited to a luxurious estate where they must navigate a series of elaborate, hidden pranks designed by the “Master of the House.” The ultimate challenge? Staying calm. Participants are monitored constantly, and if their heart rates spike during a jump scare or a bizarre twist, they risk elimination.

What elevates Trick House from a standard prank show to a psychological thriller is the presence of the “Mole.” Among the contestants is a secret infiltrator who knows every trap and trick in advance. Their mission is to heighten the paranoia and sabotage the group’s composure from the inside.

With its unique mix of unpredictable twists and social strategy, Season 2 promises to push the boundaries of the genre, proving once again why this Japanese-born format is a standout in the modern streaming and broadcast landscape.

The show quickly became a hit in Japan, and its first international adaptation aired in Norway in 2021. The Danish version marks another key step in the format’s global expansion.

Produced by Nordisk Film TV (part of Banijay Nordic), Season 2 of Trick House (Ro På!) premiered in primetime on DR1, raising the stakes with even more inventive tricks, heightened tension, and unexpected betrayals. Building on the format’s strong success and high audience engagement across the Nordics, the new season continues to captivate younger viewers and families alike.

The six-part series (6 x 28’) is hosted by Maria Helander, winner of Trick House Season 1, alongside returning cohost Sælma Alakhir, two of Denmark’s most recognised children’s and youth presenters. Trick House sits as part of Banijay Entertainment’s third-party portfolio.

Helen Greatorex, Head of Format Acquisitions at Banijay Entertainment says: “Trick House has proven to be a standout hit in the Nordics, combining originality with strong audience engagement. Its ability to evolve each season while maintaining its core appeal continues to resonate with younger audiences in a fresh and exciting way, and we’re thrilled to see its return to Denmark.”

Setsuko Yoda, TV Asahi’s Head of Formats, says: “Trick House is a format that pushes both the players and the viewers into a thrilling space where anything can happen. We’re thrilled to see audiences in Denmark embrace this second season.”
