Would you really want to know your future? The idea of undoing a wrong decision, protecting someone you love or preparing yourself for what lies ahead may sound tempting. But what if the future you see is your own death?
Disney+’s new Ay Yapım-produced film The Last Scene, set to premiere on August 28, centers on Selen, a woman who can see the future in her dreams. When she meets Kemal, she finds herself caught between what she knows and what she feels. Written by Sema Ergenekon and directed by Ali Bilgin, the film brings love face to face with fate, free will and the burden of knowing the future.
The film’s stars, Hilal Altınbilek and Serkan Çayoğlu, spoke to us about their characters, their perspectives on love and fate, and whether they would choose to look if they were given the chance to see their own future.
We also spoke with screenwriter Sema Ergenekon and director Ali Bilgin about love, fate, free will and the weight of knowing what lies ahead.
