Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that its premium streaming platform, Max, will launch in Türkiye on April 15. Local streaming platform BluTV will evolve into Max, an advanced global platform with enhanced features and functionality, leveraging BluTV’s local storytelling power and combining it with an even richer lineup of content.

Subscribers will continue to enjoy their favorite BluTV series and programs while also gaining access to the latest HBO and Max Originals, new seasons of BluTV’s top local productions, fresh original content, blockbuster movies from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios, children’s programming from Cartoon Network and Cartoonito, world-class sports events from Eurosport, live news from CNN International, a selection of discovery+ shows, and true crime documentary series, delivering an all-in-one entertainment experience for the whole household.

The highly anticipated second season of BluTV’s original series Magarsus will premiere on BluTV on March 6, with new episodes released weekly. The final two episodes, airing on April 17 and 24, will be available on Max following its launch, along with all previous episodes. To mark this transition, an illustration of the Magarsus family portrait by Turkish artist Ethem Onur Bilgiç was moved by staff after a preview screening in İstanbul today.

The platform will offer thousands of additional hours of content beyond BluTV’s existing library. Subscribers can watch popular local productions such as Magarsus, Prince, and Çekiç ve Gül: Bir Behzat Ç. Hikayesi, alongside global hits like The Last of Us, The White Lotus, House of the Dragon, and The Penguin. The platform will also feature blockbuster Warner Bros. films, including Barbie, Wonka, Dune, Dune: Part Two, and the entire Harry Potter franchise. Subscribers will also gain access to a variety of library content such as all episodes of the immensely popular series Friends and The Big Bang Theory, and all seasons of And Just Like That…, which will be available in Türkiye for the first time.

The platform plans to increase its investment in original content, bringing even more local productions to its subscribers. Additional exciting new originals are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Additionally, reality shows such as TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé and DMAX’s Tamirat Tadilat will be available on the platform. Sports enthusiasts will also have access to live coverage of major international events, including Roland-Garros and Tour de France. For younger viewers, Max will offer a dedicated selection of children’s programming, featuring Gumball and Teen Titans Go! from Cartoon Network, as well as Batwheels and Mr. Bean from Cartoonito.

Max will also continue to provide access to both local and international TV channels, including CNN International, TLC, DMAX, Cartoon Network, Eurosport 1, and Eurosport 2.

Jamie Cooke, General Manager of Warner Bros. Discovery for Central & Eastern Europe and Türkiye, stated:

“Max is the streaming home of Warner Bros. Discovery and offers subscribers an incredible breadth and depth of culture-defining entertainment from our services, networks and studios, all in one place. Turkey is a key market as we take Max global, and we’re thrilled to make it available to everyone in the country on April 15. By combining the best of BluTV’s content together with the prestige content from Max and its enhanced global platform, we’re not only improving the user experience, but also offering the subscribers much more to choose from. This marks a significant and exciting milestone in fully integrating BluTV into Warner Bros. Discovery’s global portfolio.”

With 6.4 million new subscribers added in Q4 2024, Max now has a total of 116.9 million subscribers worldwide. Türkiye will become the 77th country where Max operates, playing a significant role in Warner Bros. Discovery’s global expansion.

How to Access Max in Turkey

Existing BluTV subscribers in Türkiye will be able to log into Max using their current BluTV account credentials. Starting April 15, when users open the BluTV app, they will be prompted to download the Max app. Additional details will be shared with subscribers closer to the launch date.
