Prime Video has greenlit a new four-part drama series based on the debut novel, Sarek, by Swedish author Ulf Kvensler.
This psychological thriller is set against the vast and unforgiving wilderness of Sweden’s Sarek National Park, following a group of friends whose hiking trip takes a dangerous turn.
The series, which features a prominent cast including Felix Sandman (Quicksand), Kitt Walker Johansson (Burden of Justice), Alva Bratt (Barracuda Queens), and Nora Rios (Caliphate), is expected to premiere exclusively for Prime Video users across the Nordic countries in 2027.
Co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Jarowskij/Yellow Bird, a part of Banijay Entertainment, principal photography for the mini-series is scheduled to begin in Sweden at the end of July.
