Starring Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys, who also serves as executive producer, Widow’s Bay has been renewed for a second season.
Apple TV programming chief Matt Cherniss said the widely discussed series has captivated audiences with its mysteries.
Rhys, who has recently gained attention for The Beast in Me, plays a mayor trying to revitalize a superstitious island community. He works to make the island more attractive and appealing to tourists. However, once his wishes begin to come true, the things the islanders have long spoken about start to happen.
“Season two is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about,” said Dippold, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer.
The first season finale of Widow’s Bay is set to air on June 17.
