Prime Video has announced that its highly anticipated Muhammad Ali limited series, The Greatest, is scheduled to premiere globally on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The official release date and an exclusive first-look teaser were unveiled during a special presentation panel at the Essence Festival of Culture. Billed as the very first authorized scripted series about the legendary boxing champion, humanitarian, and global icon, the eight-episode drama is being brought to life with the close involvement of Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, who serves as an executive producer.
The series stars rising actor Jaalen Best in the titular role of Muhammad Ali, promising an intimate exploration of his unparalleled life. It will chronicle defining moments of his monumental career both inside and outside the ring, captured alongside a talented ensemble cast that includes Michael Ealy and Amin Joseph.
Under the creative leadership of creator and showrunner Ben Watkins, The Greatest boasts a powerhouse lineup of executive producers, including Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society, Roc Nation, Authentic Studios, and Polygram Entertainment, ensuring a deeply authentic portrayal of the sports legend’s enduring legacy.
