Netflix has officially renewed Wednesday for a third season. The streaming platform announced the renewal ahead of the highly anticipated premiere of Season 2 of the supernatural comedy starring Jenna Ortega. The second season arrives three years after the critically acclaimed debut, but the release date for Season 3 has not yet been confirmed.
In the series, Ortega portrays the iconic Wednesday Addams, who is expelled from her school after unleashing piranhas in the pool and is subsequently transferred to Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for outcasts.

The show also stars Gwendoline Christie as the shapeshifting principal, Emma Myers as Wednesday’s werewolf roommate Enid, and Riki Lindhome as her school therapist.
The ensemble cast includes Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, Moosa Mostafa, Christina Ricci, Steve Buscemi, Victor Dorobantu, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Billie Piper, Isaac Ordonez, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Luis Guzmán, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Since its 2022 debut, the series has become both a critical and commercial hit, earning four Emmy Awards. It is also Netflix’s most-watched English-language series of all time.
Season 2 will be released in two parts, premiering on August 6 and September 3. This season sees Wednesday return to Nevermore to face a dangerous new foe while racing to save Enid from a deadly threat.
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and based on characters by Charles Addams, Wednesday also has the legendary director Tim Burton as the executive producer.
