At NEM Dubrovnik 2026, we spoke with Mustafa İlbeyli, Director of Advertising & Sales at TRT Sales, about the market’s evolution, the growing interest in Turkish content, and the projects attracting attention from international buyers.

How has NEM Dubrovnik 2026 been for TRT Sales?

Compared to previous years, this year’s event feels significantly stronger. We are generally very satisfied with the program and the overall quality of meetings. With the absence of the Budapest event, there seems to be a greater concentration of industry professionals here in Dubrovnik.

While there were some organizational challenges during the opening days, the market has been steadily improving. Attendance has also grown noticeably, especially with a surge of registrations in the final weeks. We had over 25 meetings. People were asking where TRT Sales was. We were really happy to hear that.

Which titles are you highlighting at NEM Dubrovnik this year as TRT Sales?

One of our most exciting projects is One Thousand and One Nights Tales (Binbir Gece Masalları). Although it has not yet premiered, it has already generated strong interest from international buyers. Since it was developed specifically for tabii platform, it is quite different from our traditional TV formats and much closer to the structure international buyers are looking for.

We are also continuing to promote Deep in Love (Taşacak Bu Deniz), currently one of Turkey’s most-watched television series. Our collaboration with OGM on the international distribution side has created a very successful synergy, resulting in strong sales across multiple territories.

Another important title is Children of Paradise (Cennetin Çocukları), which has met our expectations on TRT’s domestic schedule. Looking ahead, we also have a new project launching in September. It will be an emotional drama aimed particularly at female audiences. Alongside TRT’s strong sports portfolio with the Premier League and World Cup, these projects help us maintain a balanced programming strategy that appeals to a wide range of viewers.
