MediaHub has expanded the international reach of its Korean drama catalogue with a new licensing deal with MBC Group’s streaming platform Shahid. The agreement covers four series from KT Studio Genie: Parole Examiner Lee, Unlock My Boss, Mother and Mom and Pale Moon.

The deal is part of MediaHub’s broader international distribution partnership with KT Studio Genie, the content studio of South Korean telecommunications and media company KT. The four Korean dramas were added to MediaHub’s catalogue as part of a wider slate agreement signed between the companies last year.

Which Korean Dramas Has MediaHub Licensed to Shahid?

The four titles cover a broad range of genres, including legal drama, crime, family drama and psychological thriller.

Parole Examiner Lee centers on a former correctional officer who becomes a lawyer and takes on cases involving powerful criminals within the legal system.

In Unlock My Boss, an unemployed young man’s life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a smartphone containing the spirit of a technology company CEO.

Mother and Mom follows a working mother determined to give her young daughter the best possible education. She turns to her own mother for help as they navigate the highly competitive world of private education.

Meanwhile, Pale Moon focuses on a bored housewife who takes a contract job at a bank. The new position helps her rediscover her confidence and independence, but also draws her into the financial affairs of wealthy customers.

What Does the Shahid Deal Mean for MediaHub’s Catalogue?

The agreement further broadens MediaHub’s international scripted offering, which combines Korean content with productions from a range of territories.

Alongside its Korean drama slate, the company distributes scripted and unscripted titles from Europe, Latin America, the CIS and other international markets, as well as Turkish originals.

The licensing deal gives four KT Studio Genie dramas an additional international platform through Shahid, strengthening MediaHub’s position as a distributor of Asian and international scripted content.
