Japanese Director Shinya Kawatsura Coming to Türkiye

Shinya Kawatsura, the world-renowned director who presents a strong reflection of Japanese culture through his works, is coming to Türkiye. The artist, who is coming to Türkiye for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Türkiye diplomatic relations, will hold a special meeting in Istanbul on Friday with the contributions of Atlas 1948 Cinema. The famous director’s film Cape Mayoiga will also meet cinema lovers with a special screening.

The week of events organised by the Consulate General of Japan and the Japan Promotion Foundation to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan will start on 12 January. The opening of the anniversary week, which aims to develop the relations between Japan and Türkiye and to extend the friendship between the two countries to the next centuries, will be held with the participation of director Shinya Kawatsura with the contributions of Atlas 1948 Cinema.

Director Shinya Kawatsura, who reflects the portrait of Japanese society with an extraordinary perspective, will meet with cinema lovers in a talk to be held at Atlas 1948 Cinema. The director of anime series such as Non Non Biyori and Sagrada Reset, Shinya Kawatsura’s film Cape Mayoiga, which offers a mystical look at the feeling of nostalgia and rural life, will be presented with a special screening.
