ITV Studios (ITVS) and its digital arm Zoo 55 have signed a global distribution deal with New York-based Big Media for the rights to three factual, non-scripted series.
The package includes Behind the Move: Secrets of High Stakes Transport, for which ITVS will handle worldwide sales except in Germany, as well as Secrets Of, a 10-part history and mystery series exploring the hidden truths behind iconic technologies, engineering marvels, and global landmarks.
The third title is The Watering Hole: Surviving South Luangwa, a three-part limited series filmed over six years that documents the intricate wildlife dynamics in eastern Zambia. ITV Studios aims to leverage these eye-catching programs across its global network of broadcasters and streaming partners, while simultaneously utilizing them to boost Zoo 55’s rapidly growing suite of social media and FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channels.
This content expansion comes alongside a major corporate shake-up, following yesterday’s announcement that Comcast-backed Sky is acquiring ITV’s media and entertainment channels for $2.16 billion. Once the sale is finalized around 2027, ITV Studios is scheduled to be spun off and floated as an independent entity on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
