Paramount Pictures has acquired the filming rights to Janet Evanovich’s bestselling Recovery Agent series, with talks that Gal Gadot may play the lead.
Gal Gadot is set to produce the film and is also in talks to star in the lead role.
Additional producers include Carol Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz. Gadot and Jaron Varsono will produce under their Pilot Wave banner.
Written by Ellen Shanman, the story focuses on a recovery agent called Gabriela Rose who is an expert at retrieving high-value lost and stolen items.
The first novel, Recovery Agent, was published in 2022, with the sequel, The King’s Ransom, released in November 2025. Both books became New York Times bestsellers.
