Netflix has announced that production has begun on a new miniseries by bestselling author Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) and director Euros Lyn (Heartstopper), adapting Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. A first-look image from the six-part series has also been released, featuring the Bennet sisters on set.
The series has previously announced its leads as Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin (Nosferatu, Black Mirror) and BAFTA winner Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Benediction) as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, alongside Academy Award winner Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) as Mrs. Bennet.

New casting details have now been revealed: Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) will play Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor (Industry) joins as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou (Barbie) as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) as Mr. Bingley, Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) as Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) as Caroline Bingley, and Louis Partridge (House of Guinness) as Mr. Wickham.
The ensemble also includes Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon.
Alderton said, “Once in a generation, a group of people gets to retell this wonderful story, and I feel very lucky to be part of it. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy — it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life. The book is a gift to adapt — packed with drama and depth as well as comedy and charm.“
“Playing Elizabeth Bennet is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Corrin. “To bring this iconic character to life alongside Olivia and Jack, with Dolly’s phenomenal scripts, is truly the greatest honor. I can’t wait for a new generation to fall in love with this story.”
Alderton and Lyn are executive producing the series alongside Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Corrin also earns their first executive producer credit.
Production for Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice miniseries is currently underway in the UK, with the release date to be announced.
