Beta Film has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the high-end German drama series Westend Girl, starring Helena Zengel.

Based on a true story, Westend Girl follows 18-year-old Ronja, whose seemingly perfect life collapses overnight when her parents are arrested and accused of running a major drug trafficking operation. Exploring a young woman caught between crime, family, and identity as she struggles to understand who she can trust, the series will be showcased at the Berlinale Series Market as part of the Up Next: Germany selection on February 16.

The six-part series (6×1 hour) is produced by Flare Film in co-production with WDR and ARTE. The show is co-created by Richard Kropf (Kleo, 4 Blocks) and Pola Beck (Druck), who also serves as director.

The cast includes Frederic Balonier, Lucas Gregorowicz, Luise Heyer, and Alexander Scheer.

Martin Heisler (Flare Film) produces the series, with Beta Film handling worldwide distribution. The project is supported by the German Motion Picture Fund and regional film funds.
