Alan Ritchson, star of the hit Prime Video series Reacher, could be stepping into the DC Universe as Batman. The actor recently shared just how much he loves the character.
“I get asked every day if I’m playing Batman. Would I play Batman? Yes? You wouldn’t even have to pay me to be Batman. Yeah, I’d don the suit.” Ritchson said.
Meanwhile, DC Studios co-head James Gunn, who is currently making headlines with the upcoming Superman film, addressed the rumors during a recent podcast appearance.
“I am a big Alan Ritchson fan, both as an actor and as a guy. Let’s just wait and see what happens,” he stated.

Fans took Gunn’s comments as a sign that Ritchson could indeed join the DCU in the future. Gunn also confirmed that new Batman and Wonder Woman projects are currently in early development and are a top priority for the studio.
Moreover, Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2, starring Robert Pattinson, has officially completed its script. James Gunn has reportedly expressed his approval of the screenplay, and he and Reeves are said to be creatively aligned. Filming is expected to begin in January 2026, with a release date set for October 1, 2027.
