77th Emmy Awards Nominations Announced: ‘Severance’ and ‘The Penguin’ Lead the Pack

The nominations for the 77th Emmy Awards have been announced. The most prestigious awards ceremony in the television industry will take place on September 14th. This year, Severance has garnered attention with a total of 27 nominations. Following closely behind is The Penguin with 24 nominations, while The Studio and The White Lotus are tied in third place with 23 nominations each. The highly acclaimed video game adaptation The Last of Us also stood out, earning its leads, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, each a nomination.

At the 77th Emmy Awards, the HBO Max series broke a new record by receiving 142 nominations. Netflix productions followed with 120, while Apple TV+ productions earned 81 nominations. On the other hand, legendary directors Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard received their first-ever Emmy nominations for their guest performances in the series The Studio. Famous actor Harrison Ford also earned the first Emmy nomination of his career, in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, for his role as Dr. Paul Rhoades in Shrinking.
