As Episode Magazine, we spoke with Yüsra Geyik who plays Hare on Disney+ original We’ll Be Fine.

We met with Yüsra Geyik, who brings to life one of the most clear-cut, determined, and blunt characters of We’ll Be Fine: Hare. We talked sincerely about Hare’s strong stance, her distance from love while keeping control in her hands, and her sharp relationship with life.

You play a PR consultant named Hare in the series. How did you define the character when you first read it?

Ah! My dear Hare 🙂 Some people just live and flow. For others, life is always a struggle. Hare is a character shaped by life. She was born from a mother and a father, but she is really a child of life.

Hare seems like a very intelligent, strong woman who knows what she wants. What do you think is her most defining trait?

Her determination, I think. That’s what motivated me the most.

In the story, we see that Hare is interested in Aktan and is quite determined about it. Even the fact that there’s someone else in his life doesn’t really stop her. How do you interpret this courage?

These are very complex relationships, of course. You can only really make sense of them while living through them. This question is hard to answer even within a story that has a clear beginning and end. I’m also curious what the audience will think 🙂

While watching Hare, she sometimes feels “very assertive” and sometimes “very honest.” How do you balance these sides of her?

Hare knows exactly what she wants. And I think she carefully weighs and considers what she wants. She’s not living in a fantasy world. That’s why she doesn’t need to lie to anyone or hide what she thinks. So blunt and direct. 🙂

In the series, Lal and Aktan have a great love. Hare creates a different kind of energy right in the middle of that relationship. How do you think Hare views love?

We talked about this a lot. I think deep down, Hare wants to believe, but it’s not that simple… Because she has already moved on from searching for love. She’s after something more grounded, more reasonable, more attainable (though I’m not entirely sure about that either). Deep down, she’s probably saying, “Let something be easy for once.”

If you could sit down and talk with Hare one day, what would you say to her? Would you give her advice or accept her as she is?

I would accept her as she is. I accept anyone who doesn’t complain about themselves or what happens to them. Hare doesn’t complain. About anything!

Did you do any special preparation to play a PR consultant? Did you observe that world?

PR is our job 🙂 It’s not like professions such as police or military that have a strict, defined tone. I built Hare by thinking of her as a whole, including her profession.

The visual world created by Neslihan Yeşilyurt is very strong. What kind of experience was it for you to work with her?

What a joy it is to work with a director I admired from afar… I worked with admiration for everything, her visual world, her direction of actors, her energy. I’m very happy.

What was it like sharing scenes on set, especially with Mert Ramazan Demir and Miray Daner?

First of all, I shouldn’t pass without saying this, I think it’s the most important thing: they are both very hardworking actors. And they’ve become a wonderful duo. Their scenes are so beautiful, oh my God!

Looking at your career, what excites you the most? What feeling motivates you when starting a new role?

What excites me the most is that you can imagine endlessly, without limits, and those imaginations can become real. That’s priceless.

I ask myself, “Who is this?” over and over again. I have a few more questions too, asking questions motivates me. Because it means I’ve started to be curious. And clearly, those are the places that need to be dug into 🙂
